"I have a German grandfather and an Irish grandmother, so my family background has given me some of my inspiration," she says. Rich European fabrics and intricate detail create an Old World charm that brings warmth and whimsy to the holidays. Just north of the white sugar-glazed Alps, deep in the black forests of Germany, lies a little snow-covered village. Here, the roofs are made of gingerbread, the street lamps are painted like candy canes, peppermints pave the streets, gum drops hang from the trees as if they were ripe fruit waiting to be picked and the snow tastes like sugar cane. If ever a child, young or old, dreamed of a magical place, they would find themselves not far from this village. Each year a crew of craftsmen, presenters and inventors develop all year long preparing for the Parade of Toys, when all the toys will be approved for good little girls and boys. With a quick role call and a trumpet of arrival, all are assembled for the final BRAVO. |
